Volunteering in America

Recently, the Corporation for National and Community Service released a report titled Volunteering in America 2010 (read it here). The report is based on the results of a national poll which asked each state to report the amount of volunteering and service being performed in that state.

New Jersey ranked 49th of 51 states (including District of Columbia) in percentage of people who volunteer. New Jersey is ranked 51st in the number of hours volunteered per resident.
