Bergen Volunteers: All Wrapped Up 2020

Bergen Volunteers’ All Wrapped Up program is spreading holiday cheer to over 2,000 individuals (and counting) this holiday season. Nearly 500 individuals have generously donated gifts to those in need, such as supermarket gift cards, clothing, toys, and coats.

All Wrapped Up, a service program of Bergen Volunteers, matches individuals and families in need with donors from the community. For the last 24 years Bergen Volunteers helped over 88,000 individuals and families receive holiday gifts.

“Every year I am amazed by the outpouring of kindness and generosity shared by our loyal donors. Holiday spirit and a sense of community is alive and well for our neighbors in need," said Debbie Emery, Manager of Community and Civic Engagement at Bergen Volunteers. “We are grateful to have amazing donors that open their hearts and support our community. The smiles, gratitude, and expressions of hope from our clients make the act of giving so worthwhile for our donors.”

For our dedicated All Wrapped Up donor Barbara B., giving gifts is a true passion.  Barbara shared, "These are gifts filled with love and concern for those around me.” Barbara devoted hours to creating more than 130 magical gift bags filled with stuffed animals, toys, crayons, and coloring books for children in the program. “I truly get so much out of crafting these special bags to brighten up a child’s day.”

There is still time for you to get involved! Donors may, and have continued to, support the program through cash and gift-in-kind donations. Additionally, grocery gift cards are much needed, to help All Wrapped Up families struggling with food insecurity.
