Free IT!

The Volunteer Center’s Non Profit Training and Resource Center will present a workshop on technology, “IT Virtually For Free,” on Monday, July 11 from 10-noon at the Volunteer Center, in Hackensack. 

Free or low-cost information technology is available, and non-profits can easily learn to utilize it.  Attendees at this workshop will learn how to manage IT needs on a minimum budget, save files, maintain and organize donor lists, and manage their non-profit’s day-to-day operations.

Topics will include:

  • Google docs
  • Search engines and how to use them
  • The basics of internet marketing
  • Google Apps
  • iContact Free
  • TechSoup
  • Smartphones 

Course leader is Richard Luna of Protected Harbor, a computer services outsourcing provider which offers numerous services in for non-profits and growing companies in New York, New Jersey and Texas. Mr. Luna has been involved in the computer and programming field for more than 25 years. His customers include the Library of Congress as well as such Fortune 100 companies as Mellon Bank, CSC, Xerox, Bankers Trust and others.
